Golf

Whether you're a scratch golfer or just enjoy walking the course looking for your ball, there are some fantastic golfing opportunities around Devon and Cornwall, some only minutes from a Brend Hotel.

Justifiably renowned as two of the country's finest links courses, the East and West courses at Saunton Golf Club are just a short drive from the Royal Hotel and adjacent to one of our sister properties, the Saunton Sands Hotel. A little further afield, the Carlyon Bay Hotel, also owned by Brends, has its own 18 hole Championship course which offers free golf to all our guests.

Closer to home, the Royal North Devon Golf Club is within easy reach of the Royal Hotel in the famous village of Westward Ho! The oldest course in the country, it enjoys a reputation as the St. Andrews of England and offers over 7,000 yards of challenging and rewarding golf.

North Devon Yacht Club

On the front in Instow, a picturesque estuary village between Barnstaple and Bideford, is the North Devon Yacht Club. With great views across the River Taw and down to Bideford Bay, the North Devon Yacht Club is home to hundreds of yachts, dinghies, catamarans and more. Walking

The dramatic North Devon countryside makes for fantastic walking, and both the Tarka Trail and the South West Coast Path are within easy reach of the hotel.
