20 July 08 Race for Life
The largest women's-only fundraising event in the UK is Race for Life, in aid of life saving Cancer Research UK. From all over the UK, in our nationwide events, women gather together to walk, jog or run 5K.

25 to 26 October 08 Devon County Antiques Fair

The famous annual Folk Week takes place this year from Friday 1st August to Friday 8th, a week which will see Sidmouth brought to life by thousands of musicians, dancers, artists and folk music fans. For more information on this year’s event, visit www.sidmouthfolkweek.co.uk.

Another annual event, the Sidmouth Regatta, is due to take place at the end of August 2008, where spectators can expect boat races, competitions, firework displays and more.

Close by, the historic village of Ottery St. Mary in the beautiful Otter Valley hosts the world famous tar barrel rolling event. Every year on 5th November, locals and visitors alike enjoy the spectacle as flaming tar barrels, increasing in size throughout the day, are rolled through the village's picturesque streets.
