Family Holidays
Traditional British seaside holidays are fantastic fun - especially when done in style. And we like to think that there's nowhere that makes them as enjoyable or relaxing as Saunton Sands Hotel.
Fun in the surf for kids
The three mile long safe, shallow beach with full RNLI lifeguard cover in summer is the perfect place for kids to learn to surf or to get out the bucket and spade. Families get free surf lessons as part of their holiday, which also includes a host of activities and facilities such as the indoor and outdoor pool, family film nights, a supervised playroom, Wii, archery, falconry displays and entertainments after the special childrens' tea sitting to ensure they have the time of their lives.
Jammy afternoons for mums and dads
All busy parents need a little time to themselves, which is why the playroom offers two hours of free, supervised childcare each day for under eights. That means that parents can have a little time to enjoy an afternoon tea with all the trimmings, or a pot of coffee whilst poring over the papers. Alternatively, chill out by the pool or have a special late lunch together at the Seafood Terrace restaurant. Not that the kids will feel like they're missing out - the playroom and activities are usually their favourite part of the holiday, and also means that they get to play with other young guests.
Making it easy for you
We can guarantee that at the end of a busy day on the beach, or taking part in the hotel's activites, the kids will be exhausted! Which is why we offer an early children's tea sitting from 5pm-6pm. Then once they are bathed and tucked up in bed, we offer a baby listening service so that you can enjoy a relaxing grown-up dinner together downstairs. And if you want to go out for the evening, we can arrange for a babysitter to look after your children in the comfort of their own room.
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
The hotel has amazing views of the beach and is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the UNESCO North devon Biosphere which includes the incredible sand dunes of Braunton Burrows - a must for young explorers, who'll love climbing up the dunes and racing back down again.
Also nearby is Lundy Island, which with its pirate past, makes an excellent day trip destination by ferry.
